My 40 Gallon Reef Tank

Equipment used in this reef tank:

• A 36 inch "Satellite" compact fluorescent lighting hood by Current USA with dual 96 watt bulbs, 1 dual daylight bulb (6700K/10000K) and one Dual Actinic (460nm/420nm)
• A Cyclone Bak-Pak 2R protein skimmer made by CPR Aquatic.  I'm using both the surface preskimmer box and the bubble reducing output box.
  
• Two MaxiJet 900 powerhead water pumps (see top left/right in the picture above).  These are plugged into a Natural Wave Timer powerstrip to alternate the MaxiJet pumps causing a wave action that makes corals happy.
  
• An AquaClear 50 filter with no filter media (just for water movement)
• A top-off water float switch by AquaDevices which turns on a IKS Aquastar Vario dosing pump for replenishing water lost by evaporation.
